Ice Skating

Everyone knows it gets pretty chilly during the winter in Milwaukee. Luckily, there is plenty to do once you have gotten used to the weather. One of my favorite places to go in Milwaukee is Red Arrow Park downtown. Red Arrow Park is just a short bus ride from UWM. You can take the bus from the Residence Halls and it drops you off right outside the Park. At Red Arrow, there is free ice skating as long as the weather is cool enough for there to be ice. Anyone can bring their ice skates and go skating anytime of the day. If you do not own ice skates there is a shop next to the rink that you can rent a pair from for a minimal price. If you get too cold and want to warm up while you are skating, there is a Starbucks coffee shop next to the rink and you can go in and get some coffee or tea and warm up by the fire. It is a great place to bring an inexpensive date, or just to go and hang out with a group of friends for a few hours.
