It is the start of the new semester for the Art and Design LLC, bringing with it exciting changes and new opportunities. Students who were in the 2D Concepts LLC class last semester are now in the 3D Concepts LLC class, and vice versa. Over the last week, there have been several fun events to welcome students back to campus.
On Friday, January 30th, a group of students and I went to the opening of the Interface: Meetings of Art and Technology Exhibition at the Union Art Gallery. This show features work from UWM faculty (Leslie Vansen), alumni (Bryan Cera), and current students (members of the organization Decode). A former Art and Design LLC member, Kaivahn Sarkaratpour, has work featured in the show. Students were able to meet various artists involved in the exhibition and see innovative work being done related to arts and technology.

After seeing the Interface: Meetings of Art and Technology Exhibition, several students accompanied me to Laughapalooza in the Union Ballroom, presented by CAB. The comedians Mike Kaplan and Pete Lee had us laughing in our seats.
Then, on Saturday, January 31, many students attended the Snowball on the 6th Floor of Kenilworth. Everyone dressed up and we had a lot of fun dancing the night away and taking pictures in the photo booth.
