Asian Student Union MKE!

Asian Student Union MKE!

Asian Student Union's E-board and Chair Members

Asian Student Union MKE is a wonderful organization/family to get involved in at UWM! The purpose of Asian Student Union is to promote cultural awareness and understand among all the members as well as the UWM community. ASU acts as a voice for Asian students and those interested in Asian cultures. They provide a network for members to connect with other organizations and offices and they help members obtain numerous leadership roles!

One of ASU's goals is to maintain a network for students within and outside of  the UWM community. In the past two years, ASU has networked with numerous organizations on campus as well as off campus organizations such as: UW-Oshkosh, UW-Parkside, Marquette, MATC, and Alverno. Last year, ASU hosted a Multicultural Game Night in which several different organizations came together to meet one another, network with each other, and play games. ASU also plan on attending the largest Asian-American Leadership conference called MAASU (Midwest Asian American Student Union) in April. It is a great way for members to connect with other college students in the Midwest and build leadership skills.

One of Asian Student Union's most renowned annual event is Cultural Entertainment Night, which is on Friday, April 26, 2013 7pm in the UWM Ballroom. The event promotes and showcases cultural awareness and unity at UWM. This event is a collaboration among a number of organization such as: Black Student Union, Hmong Student Association, Latino Student Union, Ahora! Latin Dance Organization, Desi Student Association, and Belly Dancers at UWM.
