Events around campus are always a great way to get involved with UWM. A great event that kicks off the year is the Leadership retreat that takes place in September. It occurs off campus at a camp and is open to all UWM students who are looking to enhance their leadership skills and build lasting friendships.The event is planned to help students understand their leadership style and learn different skills to bring back to their job on campus. It also allows students to be open about things occurring in their life in a comforting environment.
This leadership retreat is located away from UWM at a camp on a small body of water. It is a great place to get away from the city for the weekend.
This event gives students a great way to bond outside of the residents halls on a weekend. Many RAs can bring groups of students together and they can meet other UWM students that live in different areas.
Overall the leadership retreat is a great way to meet other UWM students interested in gaining skills in leadership.
