So an event that happened this year was panther welcome day! This was a program put on for all freshmen that came to UW-Milwaukee this year, I know when I was a freshmen it was not the same as it was this year. Freshmen this year were given a ton of options all through fall welcome.
Panther welcome day was a day to get all the freshmen into one room, break out of their shell, and meet people around them. This event was hosted in the Union because we used lot of spaces and had to move around a lot. The event took place the day after you moved in.
The event really gave a good name to Sandburg. Instead of having freshmen sit on their butts in their rooms not getting to know anyone they got people to do things.
