McNair Reasearch Conference

Hello everyone:)

I hope you all had a lovely first week of school! I'm sure you all had a great time during Fall Welcome and Pantherfest!

Well, I stumbled upon a very awesome event that I would love to go to and I highly recommend you all to look into as well. It's called The Annual National McNair Research Conference and Graduate Fair. It is a weekend long conference that takes place at the Grand Geneva Resort on Novemeber 9-11 this year. Although this particular event does not take place on campus, UWM has been sponsoring this event for the past 21 years.
A little background about this conference is that it is designed specifically for undergraduate students to enhance their interest in graduate studies. At the conference, you will have the opportunity to talk to representatives from more than 50 of the nation's top grad schools, build your networks, attend workshops designed for students interested in graduate studies, and listen to presentations of McNair scholars from all over the country. Since you all are "lab rats" and are interested in getting into research, grad school, and/or pre-professional school, this conference would help you figure out which schools you would want to apply to as well as give you the chance to speak with those schools personally. And, on top of all that good stuff, according to the schedule, there is karaoke and a dance party with a DJ! Fun stuff for sure!

If you are interested in attending this conference this year, or in your future years at UWM, here is a link to the Conference:

There is more information as well as the contact person on that website for you all.

Also, I'm not sure how many of you actually remembered to look up the Road Kill Experiement Nigel talked about during our first class.

If you forgot, well here you go:)
